Many people have aspirations of visiting international hot spot, Dubai, for vacation. The glitz and glam of the city make it a major attraction for the masses. However, while Dubai may seem awesome, you aren’t home there and may still get caught up in some fuck shit. That’s what 25-year-old British woman Zara-Jayne Moisey is experiencing right now.
According to the Mirror, Zara stopped in Dubai while on her way to Australia for a holiday vacation, last month. Sadly, while there, she says she was violently gang-raped by two British men. Her first inclination was to tell the police, but appallingly, when she went to the United Arab Emirates police to report her assault, she was arrested under suspicion of having an extra-marital affair. Zara is single after splitting from her husband, but she is obviously still viewed as a married woman in Dubai. She was later charged with that offense and her passport was confiscated as she awaits trial.
Zara is now out on bail and living in a safe house, where is “petrified” and “terrified.” To keep calm, she practices yoga and volunteers at a local farm. Her family has started a crowdfunding effort to raise £25,000 for Zara’s legal fees and representation. To donate, click here.
