Don’t bring your colorism or self-hate around Justine Skye. The young star took a break from retweeting rave reviews of her newly-released EP and posting glo’d up photos to politely — but firmly — check a fan who made a comment about her dark skin.

The original tweet, which has since been deleted, read, “@JustineSkye my fav dark skin.” While the fan clearly intended for the tweet to be flattering, J pointed out the error of her ways:

Tell ’em, Justine. Hopefully the fan will take the words to heart.
