M7, which can best be described as a Afro-Cuban Hip Hop duo, first connected thoughts and ideas in the early 2000s under the moniker “Yerba Buena”. Besides both of their born days falling on the same date, May 7th, hence the name M7, the BX/BK connection of Divine RBG(dead prez) and All Lyrics(Lyricist Lounge), the lyricism of these two is virtually unfamiliar in today’s rap landscape. Their Grammy-nominated synchronicity is formally represented on their 2016 reunion with “2 Stops Away”, a smooth serenade about the rough road traveled by both artists and those on the same path to success.
