Rickey Smiley is known for keeping it as real as he can – especially when it comes to his reality show.

On a recent episode of The Rickey Smiley Show, Ricky’s son Malik admitted that “all he’s dated was white and Mexicans,” when his cousin tried introducing him to a Black woman. After being set up on a blind date, Malik pulled his cousin aside to explain why he wasn’t into her.

“Her face. Black females are not attractive to me. I look at them like my sisters. I went to an all-white school. Sometimes people have different tastes, and I don’t have a taste for her,” he said. But instead of coming for Malik, Black Twitter went for his famous dad, saying things like:

But after hearing all the backlash, Rickey went on a rant during his radio show, claiming that producers forced his son to make those comments about Black women:

Although an apology is definitely warranted, it won’t help change a young man’s perception of women. Thoughts?
