Shawn “Jay Z” Carter definitely has one of the most impressive pedigrees in the rap game. Reasonable Doubt will turn 21 years in June, but his experience definitely reaches till the mid 1980s.

Today, February 22, 2017, it’s been announced that Hov joined the Songwriters Hall of Fame Class of 2017. With a hundred awards won in his careers and decades of being an influencer in the game, there is no doubt Jay Z deserved to join the greatest such as Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger and Otis Redding (to which Jay Z paid homage with Kanye West on “Otis”).

Jay Z is the first rapper to ever be inducted into SongHall. Congrats HOV!
