Art is truly influencing the world today in many different aspects of culture. Well-known pop artist, KAWS takes over MTV by redesigning the iconic Moonman statuette. Don’t you wish you where one of the winners just to have a very rare collectors item by KAWS? MTV will be taking this years ceremony to the streets of Brooklyn at the Barclays center on August 25th. The chrome 13-inches tall MTV trophy will feature the famous predecessor, presents Companion in a spacesuit, holding a flag. KAWS known for making huge standards with his art, he has collaborated with the NY Macy’s Day parade in 2012 which made it another historical moment.

“The connection to Brooklyn, it felt like it was the perfect time to reinvent an iconic image,” said Stephen Friedman, president of MTV. “Consistent with our DNA of creative reinvention and constant reinvention, this felt like a perfect marriage.”
