For BHM, citizen of the 5% Nation builds on the influence of the Nation and Hip Hop in this two part series
By Born King Allah
For all those who don’t know, the Truth is Now, Nation, or End. Welcome to the start of another 12 month cycle of time on this spinning globe of a planet called Earth. In the Truth is Master year, this Nation moved forward and experienced success in areas beneficial to our future. This is the natural progression of a Nation born to build. The truth masters all falsehood and lies in a face to face situation. As a young God in this Nation, it was always exciting to help and see this Nation successfully gain new ground. This Nation was the most progressive entity that Black America really didn’t know enough about. In the 1970’s, New York saw an explosion of the knowledge of self as we taught it and injected into the fabric of our inner city Black neighborhoods. We were the 5% on the rise, and most certainly were the piece with the magnetic in our communities.
As we grew older and people got more use to us, we started getting taken for granted. So the initial excitement about us was replaced with “oh, those are the Gods”. People got use to us without understanding how useful we really were. We actually changed the mindset of the young people away from gangs and bought them to the reality of God. Still, most failed to see just how positive pushing knowledge is power, making supreme intelligence popular, and telling our people to seek knowledge from ‘the cradle to the grave’ really is. We were influential in a good way despite what other activities we were into as a young Nation. Trust me our people would rather have 5%’ers on the corner kicking knowledge and drinking a beer, then this generation of kids on the corner rapping about murder and high on molly.
The fact that we were the dominant force and power on the streets of those inner cities meant that a lot of the problems we see today could not take root then. Now in retrospect, Black people see how much they need this righteous Nation’s help with saving children seduced by street life. The life blood of any people is their children. We have watched generations of young people fed a steady diet of self destruction go down the wrong path. We know this knowledge can save them but here is the question. How do we get them to stop the sag, put down gang rags, and instead pick up this righteous flag? The answer is to teach them as our Father taught us.
Know for a fact that the powers that be do not want another generation of enlightened youth pushing knowledge. They want ignorance to be at the root of our children’s popular culture. They saw what this Nation did and now almost 50 years later, they are still trying to stop us from raising the consciousness of our people. They started by telling lies that we were just “Boyz in the Hood” and made kicking knowledge sound corny and played out. They attempted to strip Blacks of all the knowledge this Nation taught from the 60s to the 80s and came out with a purposeful program to dumb us down in the 90s. Operation Dumbdown was created to reverse the direction of Blacks striving to be kings and queens and turn them instead to pimps and hoes. Music was imbedded with those messages and the caveat was that any Black carrying the dumbdown message was promised more gold for that labor. At the end of the day, they were somewhat successful in getting our own people to fail to let us teach them. Movies like Scarface, King of New York, and New Jack City laid the foundation for Blacks to buy into self destruction and turn away from the knowledge we were offering. Those movies combined with real cocaine from the Iran Contra Scandal got Blacks open on buying and selling the mass amounts of cocaine now flooding into their communities. Young blacks were no longer interested in being God they now wanted to be gangsters like Tony Montana, Frank White, and Nino Brown. Where we were pushing the power of the mind they chose instead to buy into the power of the material world. Material gain and the “almighty dollar” became more popular for a generation instead of Almighty God Allah.
Meanwhile, this Nation continued to go about its business creating families and spreading out all over this country. However just like everyone else in the inner cities we too were hit hard by the chemical cocaine warfare being waged against Black communities. We had found the knowledge of ourselves and somebody was literally attempting to cocaine rock us back to sleep. Religious forces were angry that this Nation’s teachings caused average Blacks to challenge the all white concept of God, the chosen people and the Bible book. They really lost their mind after our knowledge of self (KOS) was amplified with the start of hip hop. This new to the scene music genre put our KOS message in the music people listened to for recreational and party purposes. In the early days of Hip Hop, the Gods were trailblazers laying the foundation to what is now a multibillion dollar industry…….
