Amnesty World Peace
The Lakers who have to pay an absurd luxury tax this season have just lowered that by using their amnesty clause. The person who was amnestied was the man formerly known as Ron Artest, Metta World Peace. The Lakers will in fact have to pay World Peace the remaining $7.7 million on his contract, but it will not be on the books. This will save the Lakers approximately $16 million in luxury tax.
Following to be being informed about his release by the team Metta World Peace took to his Twitter to jokingly rant about his future.
I'm going to play for Yao Mings team in china! I can't wait to arrive in Shanghai !!
