It looks like Kid Cudi won’t be the only one with Marty McFly’s sneakers. Nike has revealed that the power lace technology that was featured in Back to the Future will soon become a reality come 2015. Designer Tinker Hartfield has confirmed that the laces that tighten to adjust the comofrt level of your foot inside the sneaker will debut for the 30th anniversary of the franchise starring Michael J Fox and year that the second film was set in.

Back in 2011, Nike created 1,500 limited edition sneakers that were exact replicas of Marty McFly’s kicks from the movie and were auctioned on eBay. The proceeds from the sales were donated to Michael J Fox’s foundation for Parkinson’s research. Now that the sneaker from the past will be making its debut in the present, who knows how much they will go for.

Let’s hope sneakerheads won’t riot on opening day.
