Oxymoron, Tuesday.
ScHoolboy Q‘s been thrust into the infamous press run that generally precedes a major artist’s debut album, but in between doing interviews for several major outlets, not to mention tiresome listening sessions and promotional events, in conjunction with his label, TDE, Q has found the time to deliver new music. He brought the Raekwon-featured “Blind Threats” to Hot 97 less than a week ago, and today we have a new music video from everyone’s favorite Hoover Crip.
Featuring several memorable shots, including one of Q playing the piano during the video’s intro and outro as his daughter, Joy–who’s also featured on the standard edition artwork of Oxymoron–prances around a dimly lit, poorly maintained room, the video for the Alchemist-produced “Break The Bank” strongly favors and channels themes and scenes from classic west-coast film Boyz N Da Hood–from the shots of Q walking down the lengthy alleyway as a police wagon follows to the shots of Q on the porch with several of his friends–including Alchemist–surrounding him drinking absurdly sized bottles of liquor.
Enjoy.
