Many talk about giving back to their hoods and few actually do it but this isn’t the case for Houston rapper, Slim Thug. In fact, his charitable actions recently earned him his own day.
The City of Houston, by way of Council Member Jerry Davis and Mayor Annise D. Parker, declared Feb. 25 “Slim Thug Day.”
Slim Thug may be known for his flashy ways and iced out grill but he actually has a heart of gold.
“Every year, I do toy drives and turkey give-a-ways for underprivileged kids in my hood. I know what it’s like to have a mom that works more than one job just to provide for her family, so I just play my part in helping those single mothers out,” Thugga said.
During the ceremony officiating his day, Slim correspondingly gave some words of inspiration.
“I also want to prove to the youth that dreams can be achieved through hard work and dedication, [and] I want to motivate you to be leaders,” he said.
Kudos to Slim Thug, you are appreciated!
