Production by Timbaland runs rampant all throughout Jay-Z‘s new album, Magna Carter Holy Grail, so it was surprising to learn that the two artists were once beefing. However, Timbaland wants fans to know the beef is no longer, and does so on wax on a song titled, “Sorry.”
The legendary producer described the beef as “petty” personal stuff that had nothing to do with the industry itself; just simple “disagreements.”
In an interview with Revolt TV, Timbaland shares some of the lyrics of the track he penned, which he describes as “deep.”
“We copped the same Range/We talked to the same dames/Same things, same lane…” said the Virginia native.
However, Timbaland isn’t the only one apologizing to the billionaire couple. According to Timbo, Keri Hilson is apologizing to Jay’s better half, Beyonce.
Keri Hilson alleged beef with Beyonce resulted when Hilson released the single, “Turnin’ Me On” remix, which contained lyrics such as “Go on and tell these folks how long I been writing your songs” and “You can dance, she can sing but she need to move it to the …she need to go have some babies.”
The lyrics were perceived as digs towards Beyonce, though Timb says otherwise.
“Keri actually tells the story about the whole Beyonce thing and how she was sorry about it. Cause she wasn’t really talking about Beyonce, but other people—it says it in the song,” said Timbaland.
Timbaland and Keri Hilson are expected to release new music, though that time frame is unknown. Until then, catch Timbaland interview with Revolt TV below and stay tuned for new releases.
