Slakah is back to follow up his 2009 Juno Award winning album, Soul Movement Vol.1. And to get a taste of what’s to come on Vol.2, we have a little somethin’ somethin’ for you today. “Stompthaflo” follows some simple dance moves as Slakah convinces himself to show off what he’s got for another shy girl. The soft piano chords are driven by an upbeat snare that make the beat easy to groove to and have a strong purpose. This could be your warm up jam or wind down victory lap. Just don’t forget to stompthaflo. Even with the smooth transition in the end to something a bit more melodic, you can still catch the beat to practice your salsa a little.
Slakah had this to say about the album, overall:
“The original was collaboration of like-minded people who were doing the same thing and I wanted them to be there with me, as part of that movement, but with number 2 I eased that back a little – I’m looking forward to setting out and touring this album on my own.”
Soul Movement Vol.2 will be available on BBE Records on 3/11.
