Johnny Manziel made a name for himself in college and with his appeal, Nike has signed the football player to a multi-year contract.
The former Heisman winner and more than likely first round draft pick will be sporting Nike apparel and footwear in the up and coming NFL season, ESPN reports. The terms of the deal hasn’t been released, but the Manziel’s contract is the largest signed of member of the rookie class.
The former Texas A&M quarterback had a great NFL combine, but it’s not certain where he will be picked in the draft this coming spring.
It’s been a while since Nike has released a trendsetting football or turf sneaker in some time relying only on retros. In the recent time they have released sneakers for Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson but the sneaker hasn’t had the cultural impact like retros such as sneakers released from former NFL players like Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders.
