Armory v. Biennial was brutal this past week
New York City was invaded by art lovers of all kinds for not one but two of the biggest gathering of artists of the year. For the first time since 2004, Armory Week and the Biennial Art show was held during the same weekend. Past shows were usually held with within weeks of each other due to the huge crowds they bring out. However, aside from The Representational Art Conference (TRAC) going down in California, this past weekend both shows brought out everyone in New York City to go deeper into the art world
From sculptures to the most abstract pieces, art forms of all kinds were on display this weekend for Armory Week and the Biennial show held at The Whitney. There are still mixed feelings when it comes to the quality of both shows. Though the Biennial was jam-packed with events from their curators, Armory Week focused on their exhibits individually and were still able to draw out huge crowds.
Through the power of Instagram, we are able to show you some popular pieces featured this weekend from both shows. Let’s see if you can decide which event was more successful this year.
