The 50/Stoute saga continues
A couple weeks ago, at a Knick game at MSG in New York City, 50 Cent approached Steve Stoute and, for lack of a better term, got in his face about some comments Stoute had made just days earlier during his time on Angie Martinez‘ Hot 97 radio show, where he was promoting his new VH1 documentary The Tanning Of America. During his interview with Angie, Stoute deliberately left 50 Cent off his 5 Most Influential People In Hip-Hop list, and declared 50 hasn’t had a hit record since 2007′s “I Get Money”. Obviously, 50 didn’ take too kindly to the comments.
50 stopped by to chat with Rob Markman of MTV News and addressed the Stoute situation, and joked that while he was in Stoute’s face at MSG, he merely was asking the former record label exec to apologize for his comments. Fif then went on to give a short back story on his relationship with Stoute, which included Stoute giving 50 his first record deal at Columbia, vaguely courting him at Interscope, and trying to persuade him not to sign his fateful deal with Eminem in Los Angeles.
