The childhood classic is coming to the big screen!

All fans of Lois Lowry‘s “The Giver” should be extremely excited about it’s film debut! The story about the life of a twelve year old boy in a utopian society that appears more and more dystopian will be coming to the big screen August 15th of this year. There is an all-star cast including Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges, Taylor Swift, Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgard and more! 24 year old Brenton Thwaites will play twelve year old Jonas, and from the preview it seems like the age gap between Brenton and Jonas doesn’t really matter! Although most fans would have preferred the movie in black and white (similar to the “sameness” in the original story), the trailer shows that everything else is portrayed similarly or exactly to the book. The trailer gives off an eerie yet exciting feeling, and we can’t wait to see it! It is definitely one of the hot summer blockbusters.
