The last thing you want to do when you’re running on a few hours of sleep is take the time to put on makeup but there are a few pro tricks you can use that will take away the bags, puffiness and dark circles in mere minutes.
Try one or try them all—it’s totally up to you.
Check out some of my favorite “magic” tricks below.
- Rub an ice cube over puffy eyes to reduce swelling when you wake up in the morning.
- Put concealer on under eye circles after applying foundation, not before. To cover under eye circles, look for a concealer that has more of a pink undertone.
- Use a darker shade of concealer to cover up baggy, puffy eyes. Bags will look less pronounced because dark colors recede.
- If the whites of your eyes are looking a little jaundiced, use a blue eyeliner. It brightens up the whites of your eyes.
- Use a lighter colored concealer to cover up crow’s feet.
- Use a light champagne color or dab a highlighter in the inner corner of your eye to open up your eyes and make them look brighter.
- Use a flesh colored eyeliner on the rim of your lower lash waterline to brighten eyes and make them look bigger and more open.
- A light colored, shimmery, cream based shadow dabbed over the whole lid can make the eye look more open.
- Apply a highlighter under the brow bone.
- If you’re in the process of growing your eyelashes, dust a translucent powder on them before applying mascara; this will bulk them up and add volume to sparse lashes.
