It was announced that wide receiver, DeSean Jackson, was released by the Philadelphia Eagles. The news came as a shock to Eagles fans. Just two years ago, he signed with the team for a five year extension.
The announcement was made on the team’s Twitter account. There has been talks about him getting traded to another teams like the New England Patriots and the New York Jets.
Many people wondered why he was cut as he was due to make $10.5 million in 2014 and was owed $30.5 million for the remainder of his deal but none of the money was guaranteed. There are reports speculating that he was let go because of his alleged involvement with gangs.
After careful consideration this offseason, Eagles decide to part ways with DeSean Jackson. The team informed him of his release today.
