Facebook is using you. We all know that. We may even know how. What many of us don’t know is just how vast Facebook’s plan for world domination is.

Several years ago, Facebook rejected billion dollar buyout offers from Yahoo and Google. People thought CEO Mark Zuckerberg was crazy to turn down that money. Now Facebook has gone public and is valued at around $15 billion.

And they’re just getting started.

Facebook going head up with Google’s Search

Everyone knows that Google’s search is better than any other internet search engine ever. Facebook wants to change that. With their hundreds of millions of users and their artificial intelligence unit’s Graph Search engine they intend to compete with Google within the next ten years.

Why take on the biggest web company ever? Because Google gets more ad money than anyone.

WhatsApp

Google tried to buy WhatsApp for $10 billion, but didn’t know Facebook already had a hand in their pocket filled with $19 billion. WhatsApp allows people to text each other without using up their SMS texts. They report having around 450 million users worldwide. And growing.

Will Facebook integrate WhatsApp? Not yet. They just want to let it grow first before they throw ads on it or anything. But to be sure, where there are users there are piles and piles of money to take from advertisers. And after spending almost $20 billion, they’re gonna need every money pile they can get.
