The wait for the 2014 FIFA World Cup is almost over and Nike released the brand new official England team kit. They took things right back to the classic. The new kit is a direct homage to the one worn by England at the Mexico 1970 World Cup a competition won by this year’s hosts, Brazil, with that team.
In pure, dazzling white, the new home shirt ditches the polo collar of 2010 for a more sporty v-neck, while the fabric contains a soft, ribbed pinstripe. This is matched with a traditional, round-necked telephone box red away strip. Both kits feature satin tape detailing at the shoulders and a metallic weave in the three lions crest, designed to evoke the armor of St George. England will no doubt be hoping they slay more than just dragons this year.
Pre-order the kit now straight from Nike’s online store.
