Matt Adams releases some frustration and shoves a fan
Matt Adams of the St. Louis Cardinals was venturing out to chase a foul ball in the third inning of Thursday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds when out of nowhere a fan catches the ball.
Clearly he wasn’t too fond of that.
Out of frustration, Adams then shoved the fan for catching the ball despite the fan clearly in the fan zone.
According to the fan later identified as Chris Smith, he released a statement to the Cincinnati Enquirer stating:
I didn’t reach over, I stayed where I was, I couldn’t reach out if I tried, because I can’t hit my knee on anything,” Smith said, pointing to the cup holder in front of him right at knee-level.
Adams then released a statement to the Enquirer stating:
“I’m not that type of guy to go after anybody,” Adams said. “I was just trying to stop from going into the stands and stop from falling in there.”
Tough call wouldn’t you say? The MLB is reviewing the footage as we speak, so we will just have to see what happens next regarding the incident.
