After much conflict between the estate of ODB/Eazy E and Guerilla Union’s Chang Weisberg, their respective holograms set to appear at Rock The Bells 2013 are now officially family endorsed, according to HipHopDX.
Young Dirty Bastard, the son of the late Wu-Tang Clan rapper, initially had issues with his father’s likeness being used during the festival, but has since warmed up to the idea now that he and ODB’s family are involved.
Things have changed…Now Guerilla Union realizes that we just want to be a part of it. That’s all we wanted, me and the estate. We just wanted to be a part of the situation. We wouldn’t let something like that pass by. That’s a beautiful thing. The way things are right now, with me and Guerilla Union, we’re actually building a great relationship.
On the prospect of working with the estate, Weisberg had this to say:
I can tell you that they’re 100 percent on board and supportive…This has probably been the most positive experience for the entire family. That’s what’s going to separate the performance from anything that’s been done before because the family is going to be involved in the process, in the creation and the direction of this experience.
The estate of Eazy E, late member of N.W.A., has also endorsed his hologram to perform with Bone Thugs N Harmony, the group that he helped to establish. The late rapper’s widow Tomica Wright has been “working on every detail and fabric of these performances for Eazy,” according to Weisberg.
