Tumblr page B4XVI continue with illuatations of comparing today’s favorite hip-hop artist and stars with historic art from centuries ago, all done by New York-based art directors Cecilia Azcarate and Ferdinando Verderi.

Kanye West is compared to renaissance’s images while up and coming rapper Young Thug can can be seen next to Inca sculptures.  The two artist began the project  after the two took a trip to Metropolitan Museum of Art and noticed how  people dread in the 16th century mimic the style of dressing today. All the way from the primordial gods all the way to people who held royalty.

With the assistance and help of her friend film director Ferdinando Verderi, Azacarate searched for images and gathered from the museum’s website. “It’s my favorite place on the Internet along with Soundcloud,” Azacarate wrote. “Then I started remembering all the Flemish, and the ancient civilizations in Italy, and then the furs, the chains, the gold, etc.”
