“Time to Wake Up!”
Both King I Divine & ScienZe have worked separately on their music since their first collaboration album released back in March 2012, but now they’re back together on their latest collective with relatable raps and some amazing production.
On Divine ScienZe 2: The Wake Up Album, ScienZe & King I Divine wanted to give their fans music to “make your meals with, the type of sh*t to storm the fields with.” From discussing a springtime fling on “We Are” to their smooth wordplay on “Easels,” Divine ScienZe gave us the perfect riding music for the Summer, while giving us the opportunity to empathize with them on every track.
Interestingly enough, King I Divine, who produced every song on The Wake Up Album, had only one person in mind when working on the LP- “You seen Jill Scott?” is the first line heard on “No Chaser,” featuring DOPELEAGUE. Yes, the rapper has made it well known that he has a bit of a crush on the soulful songtress. So much, in fact, that he dedicated the entire album to her. Understandably so, being that most of the the songs on the album are those we can definitely see Miss. Scott vibing out to.
With Sharmelle Hunte providing amazing vocals on several tracks & poetry by LD Henriquez, Divine ScienZe provided several components on this album that will get them heavy spins from their loyal listeners while adding more people to their fanbase. With Divine ScienZe 2: The Wake Up Album available to stream below, take a listen and there’s no doubt you’ll become one of them.
Extra: If you are in the NYC area tonight, catch them headlining at SOBs at 8 p.m. Follow them on Twitter for more updates.
