Danny Brown has run into some difficulty releasing his label backed debut Old
While Detroit can celebrate the upcoming release of its most extravagant son, Big Sean’s Hall of Fame–it seems its scrappy older child is having some issues. Fans of Danny Brown have anxiously waited for the release of his record label debut album OLD, which was originally slated for an August release. However, this might all be for naught, as Danny took to his twitter to air out some issues that surrounds the record’s drop.
In the first of two tweets, the “Monopoly” rapper woefully states that Old might never see the light of day. Presumably because of label–Fool’s Gold–indifference or problems. One cannot deny, that if the album was slated to come out this month, there has been a considerable lack of a serious promotional campaign to get the word out. Could Danny be referring to this fact or are there deeper issues at hand?
Man #OLD fuck around and never come out … Smh

Shortly thereafter, Danny tweets that he might leak Old himself–which means it would be a free release for fans. Although this is great news for eager listeners, who only want to get their hands on new music from Brown–who hasn’t released anything substantial since 2011′s XXX–it could have a disastrous effect on his label and possibly, his career with them.
I'm a fuck around and leak that shit myself if niggas don't get it together

Here’s hoping that everything gets worked out sooner rather than later. Old is one of the most anticipated albums of the year, and we rather have it in any capacity now, than have to wait for a long time just to hear it. However unlikely it is, I have to say it, hopefully this doesn’t go the way of Detox, I can’t possibly muster that much patience.
Update: Danny has took to his twitter once again, this time to share some new information regarding the album. It appears that the albums release date has been pushed back to October. We’ll get to hear the album, but we have to wait some time.
