When news broke that Kim and Kanye allegedly turned down millions of dollars to unveil the first photos of baby North, I was slightly impressed. Here you had two fame obsessed parents declining to exploit their child for profit — talk about restraint! And then reality struck.
While the couple is still refusing to release images of their almost two-month-old daughter, rumor has it that daddy West is doing his best to convince his pal Anna Wintour to feature mommy and baby on the cover of Vogue. Unsurprisingly, Wintour isn’t having it.
“Anna is NO fan of Kim or any reality star appearing in the pages of the magazine. Kanye is determined to make sure baby North isn’t photographed by paparazzi then splashed across the world. He knows what he wants — a professional photographer and the cover of Vogue – nothing else. But clearly, trying to persuade Anna is going to be an uphill battle.”
RadarOnline reports that Kanye has apparently gone as far as present masses of data to the Vogue team to show how well reality star-covered magazines sell. And the ‘Yeezus’ rapper isn’t too far off from the truth. The New York Times reported that the best-selling magazine of the year for Cosmopolitan magazine was April’s issue featuring Kim Kardashian on the cover — selling $1.2 copies.
Listen Kanye, the way I look at it is you’re all out of favors with Anna Wintour. She already did you a favor by allowing you to show up with a couch Kim to the Met Ball, knowing damn well she can’t stand the broad. I mean she cropped Kim out of your best-dressed Met Ball photo for goodness sake, how much more obvious could it be?! Sure, Kim and her family are great at selling products, magazines and themselves, but when it comes to selling the idea of Kim being worthy of the likes of Vogue, ain’t nobody buying that!
