The Atlanta Hawks’ Jeff Teague and the Dallas Mavericks’ Monta Ellis were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, April 7, through Sunday, April 13.
Teague led the Hawks to a 3-1 week, which included wins over the Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat. He averaged 20.3 points, 5.8 assists and 1.75 steals. Teague dropped 25 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists during a 98-85 win over the Miami Heat on April 12. He helped the Hawks clinch the eighth seed for the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Ellis helped the Mavericks to a 2-1 record, which included wins over the Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns. He averaged 25.7 points, 4.7 assists and 4.0 rebounds. Ellis connected on 15-of-23 field goals en route to a game-high 37 points on April 12, as the Mavericks beat the Suns 101-98 and secured a playoff berth.
