janelle-monae-rio2-billboard-650“Rio 2,” which is now playing boasts some incredible star power like Jamie Foxx, Bruno Mars, Janelle Monáe, and Tracy Morgan, to name a few.

“Rio 2″ is a fun and energetic sequel. It features the same main characters, Blue and Jewel, accompanied by their kids and friends. The crew embarks on an adventure to the Amazon rainforest on a mission to help their caretakers, Linda and Tulio, search for a flock of Blue Macaws.  In the process, the characters face obstacles that come their way in the form of illegal loggers and a tribe culture to which Blue struggles to adapt. The animated film is fun, full of music and stunning visuals of dancing feathers and wings. The music will be a hit with audiences of all ages and provided a variety of genres for all to enjoy.

Watching it in 3D elevates the movie to another level; the choreography of all the bird dances popped out at the audience which added something special. The visuals were vibrant, with many birds of different colors as well as a stunning rendering of the Amazon rainforest, truly showing its beauty. The film also shows the importance of the saving our rain rainforests. By making the inhabitants of the rainforest friendly and lovable, the movie allows the audience to fall in love with the characters and show what could be lost as a result of deforestation. In the movie, the cute birds of the rainforest will no longer have their food source should we continue to cut down the nut trees they need to survive. The birds then formed an alliance together regardless of species and retaliated against the tree loggers, and their habitat became a wildlife reserve.

The film is also a fun way to teach children about the serious implications of logging and deforestation. Educational bits are added to the mix as well as fun factoids about different rainforest animals and identification of the various organisms.  Everyone is going to love “Rio 2.”
