Darren Young admits to TMZ that he is gay.
When WWE superstar Darren Young was stopped by TMZ and asked whether or not a gay wrestler could succeed in the WWE, Young gave quite the answer when he admitted that he was an example of successful gay WWE superstar.
Stopped in LAX, Darren responded with “Absolutely. Look at me. I’m a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I’ll tell you right now, I’m gay. And I’m happy. I’m very happy.”
Darren Young is now the first openly, active gay superstar in the WWE, which is a major milestone for the testosterone dominated sport.
Support has started rolling in from prominent faces within the WWE. Stephanie McMahon and John Cena have both commented on the announcement and fully support Young.
Just recently, Stephanie took to Twitter to support Young and celebrate his brave decision.

TMZ caught up with John Cena who had nothing but support for his fellow colleague.
“Oh wonderful, I know Darren personally. Darren’s a great guy. That’s a very bold move for him. And congratulations for him for actually finally doing it.” Cena continues, “For us, it’s entertainment and if you’re entertaining you shouldn’t be judged by race, creed, color or sexuality as long as you’re entertaining.”
