The Miami Heat welcomed the Charlotte Bobcats to American Airlines Arena to start their series in Round 1 of the NBA playoffs. LeBron James and Dwayne Wade united for 50 points to help the Heat’s late game push to defeat the Bobcats. Al Jefferson completed a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds after obtaining a foot injury in the first quarter. Jefferson missed 8 of his last 13 shots after obtaining the injury, but still maintained the double-double.
Bobcats guard, Kemba Walker, was on fire today despite losing the game. Walker played lights out, finishing with 20 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. The Heat received great help from their role players like Chris Bosh and James Jones, who combined for a solid 25 points.
The Heat are the heavy favorite for this series, considering the have 2:1 odds on becoming the Finals Champion. However, Charlotte showed they weren’t willing to go down without a fight today. Check out Game 2 of the seven game series this Wednesday at 7 PM (EST) on TNT.
