Junior M.A.F.I.A. released their debut album Conspiracy in 1995. The album debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, selling 69,000 copies in its first week. Fast forward to 2014, the group is now called Mafia Dons and is back on the music scene with their first project Riding For The King, since the death of their close friend and mentor, Christopher Wallace (Notorious B.I.G.) Mafia Dons is made up of the some of the original group members including Lil Cease, Blake C, Banger and Nino Brown, as well as a couple of new additions.

During their recent private mixtape release party at Daddy’s House Recording Studio in NYC, guests dined on scrumptious delectables from SWB Catering (www.swbcatering.com), and sipped on cocktails courtesy of Double Cross Vodka (www.doublecrossvodka.com) while previewing the mixtape full of new summer anthems. Group member Bristal says that the Mafia has always been before their time. “We giving ‘em what we do for but for the time and what’s going on right now. That’s it. A lot of rappers are out here talking the stuff we talked about years ago. N***s talking about Versace this and that…B.I.G. been talking about Versace. That ain’t nothing new to us.”

Despite feeling like they’ve been copied over the years, Lil Cease says that’s why they went for a new moniker. “But we’re the first Mafia that’s why we changed our names to Don’s–DON’s mean ‘Day One N****s’. So scratch out Junior and put Mafia.” “My favorite joint is the intro! My boy Blake C that was his homey, he was the one that made us come up with the concept when he did that intro. That’s someone that B.I.G co-signed, that’s B.I.G.’s homey”, Lil Cease reveals.

Not to disappoint the mixtape brings us back to Brooklyn and is a definite for the upcoming summer season!
