Whether you are familiar with him from his amazing story or his honest demeanor, you have to agree that his talent is undeniable. New Orleans native August Alsina has taken off and as a result is on every television screen and radio station on this side of the moon.

Beginning almost two weeks ago, fans saw Alsina on a heavy promo run stopping at infamous radio stations like Power 105.1 and Hot.97, coveted platforms like 106 & Park and a jaw dropping performance for the UNCF Evening of Star’s. The push was apparent, in good taste and very successful because now the sales are in.

Testimony his debut Def Jam backed album predicted a sale of between 50 and 60,000 units for the first week. Exceeding expectations, Alsina’s raved project actually sold 63,522 copies!
