In an attempt to lower unemployment among veterans, First Lady Michelle Obama recently announced a new online effort that would link soldiers to job opportunities.
Wednesday (April 23), FLOTUS described her latest venture as one-stop shopping for troops as they transition to civilian life. The job site is to be called the Veterans Employment Center.
Mrs. Obama made the announcement at Fort Campbell along the Kentucky-Tennessee state line. She was joined by Vice President Joe Biden’s wife, Jill. The announcement comes as U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan wind down. Soldiers leaving the military will be matched with jobs that compliment their skill sets.
