Samsung Mobile, Narrative, along with the co-founders of All Def Digital (ADD) Russell Simmons and Steve Rifkind have joined forces to launch a platform for emerging artists and music lovers dubbed ADD52. To bring attention to some of the best unsigned talent, for 52 weeks, the project will debut a single and a video each week from an emerging unsigned act.

is an innovative open platform that uses algorithm technology to help artists get discovered and for listeners to be the first to know about the next big thing. ADD52 seems almost like a high-tech music incubator as exposure isn’t the only benefit as some acts selected will earn production budgets for videos, studio access and other things that can be beneficial to the growth of their careers.

Samsung’s newly launched, fully customizable ad-free radio streaming service, Milk Music, will be a core platform to showcase the artists and their music via a dedicated ADD52 station exclusive to Milk.

“This type of artist empowerment marks huge progress for the music industry,” Rifkind said. “The artists will be featured on multiple platforms including Samsung’s new Milk radio service, ADD52 TV show hosted by DJ Skee as well as music for the HoopMixtape franchise, which collectively have viewership in the millions.”

Sorry non-Samsung owners, the Milk Music service is only available currently for Samsung devices. But if you are a Samsung owner you can download it here.
