Rivers ConferenceJust days after Los Angeles Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling’s racist comments, the Clippers organization has been under turmoil. From the loss of numerous sponsors, to spotlight in the media, members of the Los Angeles Clippers are faced with the distraction brought on by their team owner at a time where they are chasing their dreams of winning an NBA title.

As news broke about Sterling’s comments, members around the league weighed in on the issue of Sterling’s racist comments.  One of which was Clippers’ head coach and vice president of basketball operations Doc Rivers, who shared his frustration with the media. When asked about his future with the Clippers under Donald Sterling’s ownership, Rivers told the media  “ I don’t want to answer that question,” Rivers said. “I don’t know. This just happened”. Tuesday morning, Adrian Wajnarowski of Yahoo Sports reported that Doc Rivers would not return to the Los Angeles Clippers under ownership of Donald Sterling. Rivers signed a 3-yr $21 million contract last summer with the Clippers organization. It has also been reported that Sterling has reached out to Doc Rivers, who quickly declined the opportunity to speak with the team owner.  Rivers stated “I have been asked if I need to talk to him, with Donald, and I passed, quite honestly,” Rivers said. “I don’t think right now is the time or the place for me, at least. So I just took a pass.”

While the future of the Clippers organization is unclear, the players will have to prepare for tonight’s game 5 against the Golden State Warriors, their first home game since the release of Sterling’s racist dialogue. League commissioner Adam Silver will hold a conference scheduled  2pm EST today, where he will discuss the details of the investigation and possibly the fate of Sterling as owner of the Los Angeles Clippers.
