The recall comes as an electrical problem causing taillights to dim or fail was detected.
According to documents filed with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, certain models of 2008-11 C300s, C350s and C63 sedans will be recalled.
It has been reported that most of the cars that are being recalled were sold in the United States.
No related injures have been reported.
Dealers will replace the bulb holders and any corroded connectors. Owners should expect to receive a preliminary notification in June and a second letter when the parts are available, probably in August or September.
