After much anticipation and an Internet leak that FUBARed their May 4th announcement plans, Activision has released the official trailer for the newest iteration in their highly successful Call of Duty franchise.
The trailer, which stars House of Cards’ Kevin Spacey as the leader of this rogue PMC shows some of the new abilities and tech available in the new game. From soldiers with exoskeletons, gloves that let you climb vertical surfaces, cloaking devices and more, the game looks poised to expand upon what made the Call of Duty series such a successful first-person shooter.
Activision’s plans to announce the new game began a couple of days ago with a teaser video and the cryptic message #ANewEra of Call of Duty Arrives May 4th on the Call of Duty official Instagram account and a blurry picture on the game’s official site with a clock counting down to May 4th. Yesterday a mini- documentary focused on the rise of private military corporations called Call of Duty- Superpowers for Hire developed by Activision and Vice was released to promote the upcoming game. But just as many plans in the digital age, things were SUSFU as yesterday the game trailer leaked forcing the Activision HMFIC to act PDQ.
The game is scheduled to be released November 4th and looks to be targeting PS4 and the Xbox One.
