It’s not much of a surprise but Kevin Durant has ended King James reign and is reported to be named the 2013-14 NBA MVP early next week.
The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Memphis Grizzlies to advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs. The official announcement is expected to come on Monday in a pregame ceremony before the Thunder’s home game against the Los Angeles Clippers
Durant led the league in scoring during the regular season. He averaged 32 points on 50 percent shooting, along with 7.4 rebounds, 5.5 assist and 1.3 steals. He would become the first player to win both the scoring title and MVP award in the same season since Allen Iverson did it in 2000-01, according to ESPN’s Stats & Information.
