Adrien Broner redeemed himself on Saturday night with a unanimous decision from the judges and a victory over Carlos Molina. It was Broner’s first fight after suffering his first career loss in a bout with Marcos Maidana in December. Broner still showed some of his bravado doing wind up punches and the “Ali shuffle” but the victory was lackluster compared to his previous fights. Broner still found a way to get people talking however with his postfight interview.
Broner said he didn’t really go through any trouble with the fight and he was thinking about DeSean Jackson and Michael Vick during that time.
When asked what he learned from the previous loss he said, “it definitely humbled me in some ways but at the end of the day I’m still Adrien “The Problem” Broner, the can man, anybody can get it, Afri-cans, I just beat the f*ck out of a Mexi-can”. It drew numerous boos from the crowd and Jim Gray told him, “let’s show some class and dignity”.
Broner also announced that he wants to fight Manny Pacquiao. ”I’ll fight anybody. I’ll fight (Many) Pacquiao before he leaves,” Broner said. It’ll be interesting to see if that fight ever happens since it appears the highly anticipated bout between Pacquiao and Mayweather never will.
