lil-durk-52bars3-thumbOver the weekend, while people were gearing up for Cinco de Mayo, there was trouble brewing in the hip hop world. On May 3rd, Meek Mill released his version of Nicki Minaj’s latest hit, “Chiraq”. While the typically boisterous and confrontational rapper took a more laid back approach to his verse, one of his featured artists decided to take some shots at some adversaries. Lil Durk, one of the most promising emcees from the Chicago drill movement, addressed Young Money’s Tyga by name, questioned his street authenticity and called him out for really being a backpacker. Not satisfied with only playground jabs, he threatens that Tyga better not show his face in Chi-town anytime soon.

Well, it didn’t take long for the California rapper to respond to the threats and disses of Durk. After previewing the track on his instagram this weekend, Tyga dropped the full record this morning and it is everything as promised. Featuring Game (who takes over the last three minutes), the two emcees go after Durk, asking a vital question: who is Durk? It is a strong response, with Tyga laughing at the mere thought of someone without major accomplishments coming at him. Game is really the star of the show though, going after both Durk and 40 Glocc, lyrically outshining his partner in crime.

Check out both and tell us what you think of this entire situation. Are both parties overreacting? Is having beef in 2014 corny? Let us know.
