“You know I’m not a racist!” – Donald Sterling
Long-time “friend” of Donald Sterling apparently recorded a conversation he and the Clipper’s owner had discussing the leaked audio with girlfriend, V. Stiviano. The new audio, originally released to RadarOnline, is a conversation between Sterling– who reportedly had no knowledge the call was being recorded– and his friend who wanted some answers.
Reports say that this “friend” signed an affidavit stating that the person heard on the audio was in fact Sterling. This time, Sterling is pretty adamant in saying he is not a racist, completely in shock that no one came to him about the incident that happened just two weeks ago. Check out some of the things he had to say about the scandal.
“You think I’m a racist? You think I have anything in the world but love for everybody? You don’t think that! You know I’m not a racist!…I mean, how could you think I’m a racist knowing me all these years? How can you be in this business and be a racist? Do you think I tell the coach to get white players? Or to get the best player he can get?…It breaks my heart that Magic Johnson, a guy that I respect so much, wouldn’t stand up and say, ‘Well let’s get the facts. Let’s get him and talk to him.’ Nobody tried. Nobody!”
And of course, Sterling’s not backing down on keeping his team: “You can’t force someone to sell property in America! I’m a lawyer, that’s my opinion.”
Yet, still no apology. Check out the full audio here.
