BMW just released a full set of details about the upcoming M5 30 Jahre M5, a limited-edition model designed to celebrate BMW’s sports sedan 30th anniversary. The name of the car 30 Jahre M5 means “30 years of the M5″ in German.
The 30 Jahre M5 sees an upgrade in the engine department as the upgraded version of BMW’s M5′s twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine that pushes 592 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque. Making the super limited-edition car the most powerful car that BMW has on the streets. The power under the hood can push the Jahre M5 from zero to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds, a bit quicker (only a half second) than the regularly equipped M5, and the Jahre M5 has a top speed of 190 mph.
The handling on this ride has been tragically improved thanks to the standard Competition Package, thats adds great M differential and a sport-tuned suspension. At the moment it seems there will be only one color available at release time, which will be a dark silver with dark chrome trim on the cars front grille, fenders, door handles and exhaust pipes. Coming with the standard M 20-inch allow wheels and custom badges to separate your ride from everyone else.
To set yourself apart on the inside the M5 has a combination of leather and Alcantara with the words “30 Jahre M5″ stitched into the seats from setbacks. All the models will come with aluminum trim on the cars dash and adding a touch of Alcantara materials on the multi function steering wheel, all with an upgraded speaker system and electronic gear system that BMW introduced last year but that option comes at an extra cost.
The price for the car hasn’t been announce by BMW but it’s expected the car will range around the $92,900 base price range.
