Donald Sterling may be gone but his wife isn’t budging
So the LA Clippers organization managed to get Donald Sterling out of his seat, but his wife isn’t leaving without a fight.
On Wednesday, Shelly Sterling told Los Angeles Times that she is legally entitled to her share of the team and she plans on keeping it that way. She believes that the NBA banning against her husband does not apply to her or any members of her family.
The league has expressed that it will do everything in its power to resolve the situation. To be frank, with Shelly Sterling sharing a piece of the organization it can potentially turn away advertisers, coaching staff or even players.
The league will decide whether or not they’ll include Shelly in the owners vote to force the Sterling’s family sale of the Los Angeles Clippers. As expressed earlier, it will take 29 other owners before Shelly has a shot to take over the squad.
