Take time to appreciate any nurse. Think about it, they went to medical school and more than likely worked hard to get where they are today. Besides; its international nurses day! It all started in the year of 1953 when Dorothy Sutherland; an official of the U.S department of health, education, and welfare sent a proposal to present Eisenhower to proclaim a nurses day in October of 1954. However no type of recognition was dedicated to nurses from the government until January 1974.This particular month was chosen in honor of Florence Nightingale’s anniversary; a women who gathered up over 38 other nurses to help heal wounded men during the war in Ottoman Empire. Those women practiced the same profession that many people all over the world excel in today and to show their commendation for nurses since then they have a list of events all over. The events usually include activities, seminars, debates, competition, discussions and more. Although the love for nurses doesn’t stop there, they also are rewarded gifts, flowers and dinner. Thank you nurses all over the world.
