the roots, and then you shoot your cousin, black thought, dice raw, questlove, understand, claymation

As The Roots prepare to let loose their upcoming album …and then you shoot your cousin to the public, they’ve released the second animated visual off the project to hold fans over.

Understand, directed by Joe Baughman (who also handled the first video, When The People Cheer), is a completely animated short claymation-themed video in which all sorts of characters and creations are formed out of everyday items. A continuation of the first visual, this one steps it up with Ben Franklin, Phantom of the Opera’s organ and more all making appearances. Dice Raw blesses and completes the song with a perfectly fitting hook:

People ask for God / ’til the day He come / see God face, turn around and run / God sees the face…of a man / shakes his head and says ‘Man’ll never understand…”Dice Raw

…and then you shoot your cousin is now available for free streaming, HERE. The full album is set to release this Monday, 5/19.
