Mark JacksonThere were many Knicks fans who wanted Mark Jackson to come and replace their ousted head coach, Mike Woodson.  Jackson grew up in New York, played with the Knicks and had great success as the coach of the Golden State Warriors.  There appeared to be a golden opportunity for Jackson to come back home to New York after being fired by the Warriors but instead he’s decided to return to ESPN.

Get ready to hear “momma there goes that man’ and Jackson’s other catchphrases as he’s reached a multiyear agreement to return to ESPN as an NBA analyst.  Jackson will start immediately.

According to ESPN:

Jackson will work Sunday during ESPN’s telecast of of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers.

Jackson will join play-by-play commentator Mike Breen and fellow analyst Jeff Van Gundy, reuniting the trio that broadcast the NBA Finals for five consecutive years starting in 2011.
