Early this morning, a plane in Laos, a small country in southeast asia went down killing major government leaders. At least four people were left dead, including the deputy prime minister, governor and the minister of public security.
Known for being a small country with powerful communist force, the country has recently taken a stance against dissent. The prime minister working in the case was also a member of the country’s top political party as a heavy enforces of the law.
The campaign to rid the city of anti-communist sentiments left one of the spearheads of the movement, Sombath Somphone, mysteriously missing in late 2012.
The 20 government officials on board the plane were headed to a special military ceremony when the crash took place. Officials are hoping to figure out exactly what went wrong, as this is the second plane crash within a year for the country.
