Fans hungry for another taste of the Harajuku Barbie’s “The Pink Print” album will be satisfied yet again this week.
Nicki Minaj delivered a performance at Power 106′s Powerhouse concert and also delivered a date, this Wednesday, for the next single off The Pink Print. Before her performance, Minaj spoke with The Rap-Up about the nature of the release, which she described as “soulful”.
“It feels very uplifting and it feels very soulful,” says Minaj. ” It’s a great indicator of what ‘The Pink Print’ will feel like in terms of the storyline of that song. The Pink Print will remind people why they fell in love with Nicki Minaj and I think that needs to be done.”
Nicki Minaj also divulged further with 106′s Nikki Martinez about her mission to get back to her roots.
“I think I kind of had to start from scratch, almost reintroduce myself again,” she said. ” I know people know me. I want to remind them where I come from.”
Lately Minaj has noticeablely toned down her public image, trading the pink wigs, colorful makeup and costumes, for a more “natural” look.
“I used to think that I would never give up on everything,” said Minaj ” The colorful hair, the thick eyeliner, but now I haven’t been doing any of that. So I never say never anymore. I just been enjoying it. I didn’t know it was bona be such a big deal to people.”
UPDATE: Nicki Minaj has revealed the official artwork for the first single off The Pinkprint, “Pills & Potions”, which will be released on Wednesday.
