A senior at Georgia high school could be banned from her graduation ceremony. The reason, school officials noticed she used the periodic table to spell out “Back that ass up” in her yearbook quote. Paris Gray is a senior class vice president, a member of SADD, the Beta Club, and a leader on campus.
When the message was discovered by the officials she received an in school suspension and as kept away from any involvement in a senior walk last week Friday after yearbook were given out to students. All because of the quote she left her portrait.
The message left “When the going gets tough just remember to Barium, Carbon, Potassium, Thorium, Astatine, Arsenic, Sulfur, Uranium, Phosphorus.”
After the walk the senior was suppose to to give the inspiration speech at the schools graduation ceremony, but the assistant principal tell her she was out at the moment.
A school district spokesperson says that no decision has been made on the quote and the superintendent and principal would meet today (May 20) with Gray’s mother to discuss a final outcome to the situation.
